Default nasty accident A49 lower whitley/cheshire

hello all. my first post here, i have a GSXR750.
bit sad really. i was thundering along the A49 in my vectra this afternoon, when i saw a blue SV650 on it's side in the middle of the road. it was one with a half fairing - i'm not well up on SV's. it had just happened. the vehicle in front of me was an AA van. he pulled over. there was a bloke standing by the bike on his phone waving us down to stop. i took this to be the rider. i stopped behind the AA van unsure whether to get out and 'help', or b*gger off and not complicate things. i wondered what the score was because there were no other vehicles around....until i noticed a black Mondeo further down the road [like 50 yards further down the road...] with lots of steam coming from the front of it. the AA bloke had wandered off to see what was going on. suddenly, he ran back to his van and got on his phone. i thought i would get going to avoid being in the way when the cops/meat wagon showed up. i drove through [lots] of black plastic bits, odd, i thought, seeing as the bike is blue. the Mondeo is black though..
i trundled past the carnage, past a glove, past the bloke standing in the road who, by his clothing, clearly wasn't the bike rider. so.....where was the rider?
as i continued trundling, i was horrified to see a dark shadow wedged under the front of the destroyed front of the mondeo.....
i'm a big rufty tufty geezer, but i'm not ashamed to say i nearly cried. as i drove on, i wondered if i could have helped? maybe lifted the car off him? there were 4 other people wnadering around on the scene, so i could have just got in the way??
i've done a google search and can't find any info on the incident, if anyone on here knows anything, or can find out anything, please say so. i hope the rider was ok, but it seriously didn't look good.
take care out there - you knew that anyway people, it's a jungle..

Christ that does not look good at all does it?

Maybe this should be reposted in Pennine Massive?

Hope it looked worse than it was and that it is not one of ours? Not in anyway detracting from the sympathy I feel for that poor rider and those close to him/her.

i'm not a natural pessimist, and i know people are hard and get through all sorts of scrapes, but it looked really bad.
i raise my glass to anonymous SV650 person however it turned out...

Doubt it. Whitley's a few miles south down the A49 from Warrington.

What awful things happen just before Christmas. My thoughts are with both riders and families

I've heard nothing about this new one...but I'll ask around.

Was just about to post a link to the thread on visordown.
I'm obviously hoping that nobody was killed or suffered any permanent injuries, but I can't honestly claim to hold out much real hope. It's all too easy to lose life and limb out there and being stuck under a car is generally a bad sign.
