Default Callums Story (petition)

There was a story in MCN a week or so ago about a lad who was killed whilst riding his scooter.

This is a petition organised by Callums Mum to raise awareness on badly maintained roads and drains.

All you have to do is click and sign it.

Lets put an end to the crap roads we ride on

http://www.petitionthem.com/?sect=detail&pet=2399

I will post a link later to Callums story

Thanks, it looks like a few of you have signed up.

It was an appeal to a trucking site I visit and Roseanne was at a loss what to do.

I suggested a letter to MCN and things appear to be happening

Have signed the petition.

I narrowly missed a frighteningly sunken pothole (about 5 inches below the road surface) a few days ago, and spent the rest of my journey feeling relieved that I was in my car and not on my bike - otherwise I'dve hit it.

I'm going to go out tomorrow to see if I can find it again, and report it to the council.

Signed - anything to help improve roads and prevent a similar tragedy.

Inquest states defective manhole cover caused death and the Council has responsibility for their upkeep.

How the hell can they deny liability?????

Aren't councils only liable if someone has previously reported the fault to them and they haven't acted on it? Still sucks that with all the money motorists pay in various taxes our roads are in such a state.
