Default Rear end shunt

HI, anyone got any advice for things to look out for? I got knocked off on xmas eve at a traffic junction. Somebody behind me pulled away whilst I was trying to be cautious and sent me flying over the handlebars! Bike skidded down the road.....I've got all the usual knackered exhaust/indicators/rearbrake/frontbrake/fairing etc damage, But the rear subframe is bent also. I'm going to take it to the shop this week to get it fixed but can anyone think of anything I should ask them to check for like swingarm wheel etc? It was quite a hard shunt and I'm worried that it will have some hidden bent stuff or summit that will only surface when I get it back and ride around the first corner.............or otherwise!

Is it an insurance job being paid for by the other party? That sort of damage could easily write the bike off if it is.
BTW look for buckled wheel, tyre damage and how long was the bike running when laying down? This can wreck the engine.
If it is an insurance claim get some expert help.

Tis an insurance job, the car driver didnt have a leg to stand on, mind you I was lucky to keep both mine. They have admitted responsibility as far as I know so MONEY NO OBJECT! At least that is what I'm assuming at the moment. The bike stalled pretty quick and seemed to run ok on the short ride to the tow truck....thanks I'll get the garage to check for oil backed up through the breather and spoiling the filter etc if that's what you mean...

if you fancy keeping your bike the insurance company may agree to fit an road legal aftermarket pipe, this brough the cost of my repairs down to below the value of the bike.

Just to have a little rant i think it f**king riddiculos that a £2500 bike can be writtern of my new forks, front fairing, headlights, brake lever, rear faring and exhaust. I reckong the parts are worth £500-£1000 in real terms, i read in 2004 that it costs £30,000 to built honda hornet out of spare parts?

Default Rear End Shunt:

Maybe better not to ask them to check anything specific. Let them tell you what needs doing, just tell them what happened if needed. Then if they miss anvthing thay cannot say you did not ask them to check that. Are bike repairs covered same has car repairs with a guarantee by the insurance company?
