Default Cheapest place for registering a domain?

I need to register a domain, so just need help keeping the costs down.

I've found a site, telivo.com, that will do a ".org" domain for £15 for two years and this seems to be the cheapest but does anyone know a cheaper site than this?

Try here:

http://www.ukreg.com/

I use them all the time.

Edit: Actually I'm not sure they're cheaper as £15 for two years is very cheap for a top level domain.

It is a lot cheaper if you can use a .co.uk. I normally use 123-reg where it cost 2.59/year.

I also use free dns services from afraid.org. Then again costs TLDs are a lot lower than when I had to buy from network solutions years ago.

Your telivo provider is very cheap for two years.

One word of caution. Years ago I had a domain registered through a tag holder who started playing silly devils. charged my credit card 3 time in 6 months, refused to answer mail. charges were made just as statements were issued. It was then 6 weeks after the transaction date before it appeared on my statement and getting card company to respond was difficult as this company no longer answered phones/mail etc.

so eventually had to go to nominet as they would not release my domain to a new holder etc. Nominet is very bureaucratic. So make sure the registrar you use trustable and likely to be here for the duration.

One and One are a swine if you want to move your domain and offer email-only support.

Thanks guys.
The UK versions have already been registered and so I have to go for something like ".org".

telivo.com is £15 +VAT so really it works out to £17.63, that's still less than everyone else though by a few quid.

oneandone.com seem extremely cheap at only $5.99 a year for a ".org" but on further investigation you find that's only available to US and Canadian residents, if you go to their UK website, www.1and1.co.uk, you have to pay £8.89 +VAT, that's a bit of a joke isn't it?

Ah what you forget is that seven or eight years ago the price would have been closer to ten times what they're asking now, so it's pretty cheap by comparison.

I can do your top level domains at £14.98 + VAT for two years if you want?

(.org, .com, .net etc)

I actually feel as if I have something to contribute at last! I'm waiting to sort out some finances , get a house, blah blah blah before I can get my SV.

Wont be long though I hope. Then I should be able to relate to the things that are posted here. Yay.

Failing that, I'll just post useless crap everywhere
