Biaggi denied Superbikes switch

Max Biaggi faces 2006 without a ride
Max Biaggi will not ride in this year's World Superbike Championship after he was left off the final entry list.
The Italian, without a ride in MotoGP after being axed by Honda, had talks with Superbike team Alstare Suzuki.

The outfit had provisionally entered a fourth bike for 2006 but only Troy Corser, Yukio Kagayama and Fabien Foret will line up this season.

Biaggi blamed the breakdown in negotiations on the lack of equal equipment on offer.

"There aren't the necessary technical guarantees that would allow me to fight on equal terms in a very competitive championship," he told his website.

Biaggi could now test again for Formula One team Midland following his run at Silverstone last month.

The 34-year-old endured a dismal 2005 in MotoGP with Honda, finishing fifth overall with only two second-place finishes.

Ahh, poor Max...

Maybe he will learn the lesson of when to keep his gob shut and take his failings like a man....

I have to admit that I don't have much sympathy for Max, all those years going on about riding inferior machinery and when he does get the top ride in Moto GP he screwed it up. And rather than take it like a man and admit his own mistakes, he blamed everybody in his garage and Honda engineers.

Sorry Max, your time is up!

Imagine how funny it would be for Biaggi to be the first MotoGP rider to make the switch to Formula 1 by getting a drive with Midland . . .

. . . only to find that in a year's time Vale turns up to kick his ass again by getting a drive with Ferrari !!

Maybe Vale'll let him have a go on the back?

This Max business really is a mess isn't it? Let's not forget that 2 Moto GP team's wanted him and one WSB team but the deals did not happen and he obviously wants to be a contender.

Yes his big mouth has not won him many friends in influential places but at the end of the day,he is still an immense talent with a glorious riding style. I really feel that the bike racing world is to some degree at fault for allowing the situation to get to this and so deprive fans of seeing Max strut his stuff.
