fitted my chain from the box.
SSS chain....... supposedly for SV650. i had to tighten the tensioners right up against the back edge to make the chain the correct tension....... im worried about it stretching and then having nowhere to go.... hmm. do we think i was given the wrong chain? surely removing a link will be far too much tighter? |

Take a link out, did you actually count the links to make sure it was right?

Should do, aye. Is it 110 links in an SV chain? If you've got a smalelr rear sprocket than standard that'd also have the same effect...

As Tim has said. If you have a fared bike, there is a possibility that they have given you the naked chain.
The fared bike has 44 tooth rear sprocket and 108 link chain. The naked has a 45 tooth rear sprocket and a 110 link chain. If this proves to be the case and you have the wrong chain, don't bother to go and changed the chain, change the rear sprocket instead. You wont be disappointed. ![]() ![]() |

Was it supplied with sprockets? If so it should fit the bike as you will either have the naked or the S set up.not an incorrect mixture of the two.

So when my chain wears out it would be recommended to replace it with the naked chain and sprocket set?

I went for a 15/46 setup with a 110 link chain (I think) anymore on the back would need an even bigger chain. |
