right, i have 2 hard disks,
one master c:/ , one slave d:/, all the stuff i NEED to keep is on my slave. can someone tell he how to reinstall windows on my C:./ i have here all my drivers for my hardware, and i have here my windows XP CD. im fine with installing windows, but can someone give me some instructions on how to format my C;/ drive. (ive never done it before) cheers Warren |

Unplug your data drive to prevent accidental deletion if your arent confident.
With windows xp you can delete and repartition in the installation sequence. Just boot from the CD. |

cool,ive watched my brother do it before. but i cant really remember the formatting and partition process to be honest.

As mysteryjimbo said, make sure you disconnect the slave drive to prevent accidental deletion of anything!

Make sure its the slave you unplug.. as if you unplug the master, and you reboot with the XP CD in then the slave will apear a C not D and you could over write all your data. If you unplug it and you reboot as normal and don't get the error 'NO BOOT DISK' or something similar then you've pulled the right one.

all done.
got a few more probs now everything seems to work fine. apart from using forums (like this one) it seems very slow indeed, sometimes i have to click a few times on a link to get it to open. also www.microsoft.com wont load, so i cant update internet explorer ![]() any ideas ? |

It sound like an MTU prob but we looked at that last time and it made no diff.
Do a: ping www.microsoft.com and see if the name resolves to an IP address.
