Default Scottoiler problem? (Sorted now)

Hi all,

Well, I'm all DASed up, got me bike and just got my first 150 miles under my belt!

Looking around the bike properly today and deciding what's going to be tweaked and all, Chewy's mirror extension kit firswt I think...

Anyway, the scottoiler is fitted to the left hand side of the rear of the bike and the feeder tube runs down behind then underneath the chain. it seems to feed the bottom of the chain on the underside. I thought this a bit strange and was having a good look around the chain, seems "greasy" enough but there is a bit of rust on the edges that I'll have a good go at over the weekend.

Then I was looking for the tool kit under the pillion seat and I noticed that there is a tube leading from the top of the scottoiler into the underseat storage, Clear, no contents, just ending there. nothing else.

iks this right? I thought it had to be connected to a vacuum to work?

any pointers as I don't really know enough about this yet to start playing around. I can post a photo if need be. any help appreciated.

the empty tube that you mension is supposed to be there, it is a breather tube for the scottoiler.
