I was under the impression jet washing bikes was a no no. I think it's because the pressure allows water to get into bearing housings, etc.
I use a 2 litre plant spraying hand pumped thing. It's not very powerful, but it's an easy way of getting water to those hard to reach places. Cost about £2 in Lidls a couple of years ago. This ain't BASAT-compliant. |

I use my own domestic jet wash (on low pressure,) at home (and always have done,) never had any issues... Just give some adequate relief between the lance and your bike if the pressure is too high

I wash mine with a powerful home Jet wash.
Never had any problems, just need to be carefull not to point it directly at any oily bits. Always go round it with some lube as soon as its dry. |

Keep it away from any bearings- swingarm, wheels mainly- and anything greased- brake calipers. Personalyl I find them ineffective against bike ooze, Muc off and a hose seems to work better than a powerwasher and shampoo.

The only time I didn't jet wash mine this winter I aquired a nice collection of crystals
I tend to stand back a bit and not aim too closely at the vunerable bits ignition, bearings, chain, etc Tris |

ive always washed mine with a pressure washer, cnat imagine getting the bucket and ponge out at this time of year, use a sponge or brush to get the film and oil fling and stuff off.
jetwash is fine as long as you dont blast the electrics or the bearings too much. jet away........... |

It's mine and I can wash it as hard and as fast as I like.
Now, back to the bikes. I used a jet wash on my bandit once and it took a while to start afterwards but they are bloody handy for getting the bike really clean. I still prefer the sponge an bucket method though, it's more of a bonding session with the bike......or is that bondage? |
