Question re: oil warning

Yesterday i rode home from college (24 miles) in the pouring rain, got approx 500m from home when the oil warning light starts flashing (It was flashing at rate of low fuel warning, at same time) so i knock it into neutral, killl the engine and coast it home and pull into garage out of rain. knowing oil level wont't be right till it's had chance to drop i go get a cuppa and dry off.
5 minutes later i go out and check oil level...Fine 3/4 way btwn F & L, check filter isn't loose ....nope & check sump plugs still there n tight...yup. Turn ignition on and fire her up....no warning lights...wait 2 mins for low fuel to kick in and oil light doesn't come back on.

Any ideas anybody ?? don't want to ride her if i'm doing damage but i don't know that i am as everything seems fine, no knocking, no power loss, gears change as they did before etc. etc.

If there is oil in then i must have been a false reading. The engine should go a bit noisier if there is no oil in it.

Could be water in a connector shorting between 2 pins.

had a look at wiring diagram and it appears that ALL the dash lights are linked so it coud be chaifed wires contacting, I'll have a gander this weekend.

my car dash lights threw a flip the other day! my local garage said if you switch your engine off and then on again the black box resets its self and if the prob is still there you have a problem, if it goes then its just a electrical gremlin and no worries.

When I was riding fast through rain on the motorway, my left indicator light started to come on a little and flicker, although the indicator was not on. It doesn't do it in the dry or at slow speeds, so I just put it down to water and electronics and it being Wales. If there is something wrong with it, please let me know someone :P
