As the title says,
Can you show me some pics and let me know if you had any difficulties, just got a naked curvy 650. After riding the S model for two years I want to do the GSXR change. How have you mounted the headlight? ![]() |

wait till i have all the parts for mine then you can do yours!
![]() I cant see a major problem with it though, surely just renthals for bars with the fitting brackets (if needed...i dont know) and im sure you can get good lights that attach to upside down forks...personally i say go for the buel lightening lights and fly screen, tl709's one looked awesome like that....i think that was his name anyways... I'd recommend an after market top yoke as GSXR top yokes are magnesium and not very thick when you start drilling holes and fitting risers

Are SRAD yokes the same? Reason i ask is that SRAD yokes would be the cleaner fit on a curvy.

GSXR top yokes have been drilled for donkey years(and bike ridden hard) and I have yet to hear of any failures. Cheers Ben |

Mag or not they're still thin compared to a yoke meant for risers.
When I got my K5 front end the steering lock had been forced and ther was a white line in the top of it, turn it over and it had a big Y shaped crack nearly all the way through, at first glance you wouldn't notice the lock pillars were bent |

How do I know ? Just to confirm what I already knew I measured three top yokes. (drilled GSXR600K1 , Drilled GSXR750 SRAD and an SV650N). all three were about the same thickness. Yes the bit where the risers go has a bit more metal but when drilling a regular yoke you use washers(personally I use quite large ones about 3mm thick) to spread the load. Cheers Ben |
