Well was going down the road the other day and thought to myself, what woul happen if I flicked my kill switch, and their was a bang! So I looked in my mirror and did i again and I get big massive flame out of my renegade can, Like blue and orange, looks pretty cool -
Question - has this or will this damage the exhaust/the exhaust |

I hear wives tales of damage to the packing in the exhaust, as well as urban myths of crunched valves.
but for real evidence? none, and I'm pretty sure one or two can't be all *that* bad ![]() |

It will damage your bike... just don't do it alot and you should be fine. I've been doing it for years.

"If there's not much packing in there, it could be the last straw, and burn the carbon" ![]() CF is much more vulnerable to heat damage than any other can material... Titanium being next. And what you're doing here, is causing a fire or small explosion in your end can. This is also why it's important to stay on top of repacking carbon and ti end cans- carbon can burn up, ti can discolour. You know you can buy flamer kits? It's a sparkplug for the exhaust, and a cut-out for one of the coils. Basically, push a button and that cylinder stops sparking, and the plug in teh end can starts, causing a better burn and with the engine at close to full power- 30 foot flames can be had apparently ![]()

Years ago when BT (then the post office) had Morris 1000 vans we used to do that trick
![]() ok until you had to explain to the garage why the silencer box had opened up like a tin can ![]() chris |
