Default Saving for a bike - painful

Now i've passed my test its time for a bike, only i have decided to do the sensible thing and save as much as possible before my will breaks and i finance the rest. finance is bad. must save.

Only a couple of months ago i needed £480 spending on my car (new driveshaft to cure ABS problem ), and now its conked out again (i suspected coilpack).

Put on the spot i got it taken straight to renault... now i'm dreading another massive bill. £50 before they'll look at it, £70 per hour after that and probably expensive parts on top. Thats IF their computer can find the error!!!

What happened to old fashioned mechanicing where they send someone into the carpark to sniff the oil, rev the engine and take a best guess!!!

so my bike will be set back even further and its really quite depressing, i just want to get out there, literally itching to go. why do cars/bikes have such a draw??

(oh and they can't even look at it untill monday so i'm facing public transport... which would be fine, if there was any. might get my old bike out )

So, you have no car for transport?

The solution is clear, buy the bike and to hell with the car

£70 an hour for a computer to do the work? You're bing ripped off. Wish I could charge £70/hour

Take FS's advice. He always knows best. True.

Somebody drove into the back of my car and wrote it off. So I used some money for that as a deposit on for my new bike

I know the feeling though 2 weeks before it got mullered I had to shell out nearly £1200 to get the flippin ECU replaced, the car serviced and MOT'd it failed its MOT so I had to spend more money on it.

I'm buying a cheap run about and I've just remortgaged to pay for the new bike

It can be done

I don't mind waiting really, its when the date gets pushed back gets me down.

I look after the car well, always serviced and washed, waxed. but recently its hit 60k and needed work doing on it.

**** happens... its just frustrating when you're wating for something as exciting as a motorbike.

Public transport in Wiltshire, oh dear. Sometines I wish there was better public transport for the odd occasion when you can enjoy the odd extra bevvy (or two) after work and get the bus/train/bus home.

The better weathers on its way (i.e. warmer rain I hear with fog) so it should be better for when you pick up the bike.

Just need somce decent road surfaces round here without drain covers on every single bend! Chippenham - Swindon back roads..

Sublinimal message follows:

BUY THE BIKE!

They are cheaper to run, insure and tax. And they get you there quicker. And no garage charges £70 an hour to look at a bike.

You know it makes sense.
