Default seat cowl issues...

Help - just got a rear cowl for the SV - fits a bit strangely and I seem to remember seeing a thread about how to tweak things to get it to fit better (ie not sitting so high and a bit too far forwards). have tried searching but probably due to my ineptitude with all things computery I can't find it!! can someone post the link to any suitable threads - or tell me how to fix this thing themselves! Ta v much

PS. weathers s**t isn;t it?!

i just fitted mine straight on as the instructions provided say, i dont think it looks too bad. you can adjust the fittings slightly to make it sit tighter against the bike but remember its got to have enuf play in it so it will still come off when you try to remove it.

its something about swapping the rubber mounts from the seat with the ones from the cowl.

I adjusted the fit of mine by removing the fixings underneath the cowl & elongating the bolt holes with a file so i could move them forward or backward to improve the fit, heightwise it was fine.

from what I remember of the thread a few months ago, some peoples seemed to just fit fine straight off but others needed a bit work. Mine is liveable with i suppose, it just sticks forward of the main frame of the bike by about 3mm so theres a big gap at the back and a step at the front. plus big gap all the way round. I tried changing a few things with no luck and before I fiddled more thought I;d try to see what other people have done...

maybe was dreaming I saw a thread about this - may have to live with gappy cowl

Yeah the overhang is what i didn't like about mine, the little mod soon cured that.
