Any other time I [ME] have asked about a meal I've been given a blank so what is the point Normal for who so ever wants to eat eats as you did last week, without asking if anybody else would be eating beforehand. You only have to look at the sight to see how often people say they will turn up .but don't ,so we weren't booking tables for maybe diners or attendee's

For the record I was treating my wife to a meal for taking me there and driving on several other occasions and when mentioned to Patric and Pete they said they would bring there partners along----------------so we had a meal together, and you were asked if you wanted to join us but declined

ANY OTHER COMMENTS YOU WANT TO MAKE

Sorry Mac, but I have to agree with Caddy on this one.

Yes, it is normal for whoever wants to eat to do so - but they don't normally take a seat in the restaurant area - they eat wherever the group is sitting.

Perhaps if you'd mentioned in a post that you were thinking of a 'formal' type meal then some of the others (myself included) may have expressed an interest.

There was no plan of a 'formal dinner.

Everyone knew that Pete would come & likely won't be driving himself (therefore bring barbara)...

I for myself wanted a drink & therefore asked Sarah if she wanted to come (take me in the car ).
At this point I wasn't aware that mac was thinking of having the same idea.

Sarah & me have met pete & barbara several times before & the girls like to talk their Buffy stuff. It's always nice to see them.

So when we got there - we all where on this small table and there was this buffet thing going on in the pub(god I wish I had some of that ).

Anyway we wanted to eat & everyone else was welcome to eat as well. Since there where no free tables, the pub staff showed us that extension dining room - which none of us had an idea about that it exists!!!!
But you decided not to join us.

So don't give me that sub forum 'formal dinner CR@P

I'm so sorry. I didn't know that I have to tell everyone/ ask permission of whom to bring, what to drink, what to wear, to be allowed to eat.

I was only trying to say that as we had arranged to meet as a 'club', 'group' (whatever name you'd like to put on us !! ) - it would have been nice for all to have been 'invited' - I think it was pretty clear from the posts that others would be turning up.

As for your sarcasm - I'm sorry but I thought this was a forum, i.e. where everybody was entitled to air their views ??

I certainly don't intend to fall out with anyone over what to all intents & purposes is a pretty trivial matter in the great scheme of things - I just wanted to make my feelings known.

See you all on Monday

Well as I said we didn't plan this dinner. I knew I had to buy sarah dinner for driving. & when we all where there everybody else said they'll have something to eat - since I'm always hungry I had something as well

Caddy & Julian didn't want to eat & for some reason didn't come with us into the extension of the pub - where we would have had a big table to accommodate everyone. Fair enough - their choice.

Jonathan you arrived a bit later and when you came in to say hello we did say "please join us, sit down". - Did we not >>>???!!!!

Nobody was or was not invited. Just when we all where there we decided to have a meal. That's all.

It feels a bit silly & unnecessary even talking about this...

Have a great Easter everybody. & I hope the "air is clean" on monday @ Supervox's BBQ.
