Default Scooby-don’t!!

I’ll set the scene … I pull up to a set of red lights, a ‘rude’ sounding car pulls up alongside, I look over to see what all the fuss was about and it was a Subaru Impreza (AKA Scoobydoo) with the stereotypical baseballcap wearing chav at the wheel. Blipping the throttle a bit. I don’t normally need much coaxing, but at this point I knew what was going to have to occur as soon as the lights went green, it is kinda predetermined!!

Lights go green, I pull away, awaiting the scoobydoos response … sure enough the induction roar proves he has nailed it, at this point I am obliged to respond … it’s the code isn’t it???

Anyhoo, I rather cheekily ‘hoiked’ one up and out accelerated him with my front wheel going past his passenger side window!!!! Sorry Mr Scoooby, but on this occasion, you Scooby-Don’t!!

I had proven my point and backed off (it was at the end of the day a 40 zone!!)… and he roared off into the distance … Like the scalded naughty boy he was!! Sweeeet

I know it is not big and it is not clever, but everyone must have done this sort of thing from time to time?!?!

Ive never wheelied the SV. Only bike I have was my CG and thats cos the clutch cable had broken.

I tend not to play at lights these days - too many idiots go through the reds on the other set. However, if thats not the case I have been known to out accelerate a beamer and a porsche [though I dont think he was really playing ].

Now the CBR is a bike to play with porsches on a more equitable level

A conversation i had today with a RoSPA instructor went somthing like this...

Him: So still got the sv?
me: no, it er, went bang.
Him: you were wheeling it wasn't you?
me: i'd never do that
him: yea, right (I can see his smirk and eyes rolling down the phone). So what bike you got now then?
Me: a speed triple
him: ah, i see.... Nice machine.

Me? I'd never race anything* off the lights.

*it would have to be worthwhile....

Default ....

The SV ain't bad on the old Traffic light drag strip, considering it's 'only' got 70ish Horses.

I've managed to leave behind pretty much everything (Mercs, Porsches, Beemers) since having it, but a 'mistery' car did keep right on my tail (up to hard braking for a bend), reckon it might have had me if it was a straight .

I couldn't tell what is was because it was dark, but it was low like a Noble or Farreri maybe (quite noisey too).

But I dont agree with that sort of thing y'know...

Yeah right

I’ve lowered the gearing on mine making it that bit more sprightly on the off (and even easier to ‘hoik’ one ). But get up to about a ton or so and it runs out of puff, and it is an uphill struggle from there, so some of the more potent cars will probably get the better of the SV at that point. Lets face it though, up to what 80 odd??, on pure power to weight, it is going to have to be one b1tching cage to stand a chance

This of course is all very immature/silly dangerous?? etc but it never fails to bring a grin to my face every time I do this sort of thing!!

Go on someone else post some shenanigans
