Default RSPCA Run, Derbyshire

A bloke in Matlock today was telling us about a Charity Run for the RSPCA on Saturday 29 April, starting at Granby Motors in Ilkeston - if anyone is interested here is the website -

http://granbymotors.net/b4b.php

There will be a raffle on the day to win a day at the Ron Haslam Race School.

Dont you think some form of explanation would be required for that comment rather than just leave it at that?

Fair enough - if you're not interested, don't go.

I'm sure there are plenty of others who think it's a worthwhile cause, and a good day out.

Right and that means all their work for helping poorly treated dogs and cats and other pets is pointless too?

Just because you disagree on a point of principle I dont think this was the forum, time or place to make that point really.

Same...but they don't only campaign against hunting and shooting....as a matter of fact, they do actually condone hunting( in moderation) of certain species of animals.

Not a good attitude to have matey Next time your or someone you know has a pet attacked by some idiot yob, don't expect them to fight your corner

Fight in my corner? thats a laugh. as for them condoning hunting in moderation, BULL. Did not anyone see/hear the news the other week when the RSPCA were prosecuting a police man for cruelty because he put a cat out of its misery because it was suffering too much, I suspect not. They spent thousandstaking the case to court only for it to be thrown out. A few years back I found a stray lurcher pup & took it to the local police station as I had nowhere to keep it, later I enquired about it & was told the RSPCA had took it, I rang them & was told if I wanted it I would have to wait six weeks & if not claimed I could have it at £70 for the snip so I spent money on timber & wire mesh for a kennel & run on the last week, when the day came I made the phone call & was told the dog was still there & if I wanted it to fetch it so off I went with the wife & kids & £80, upon arrival I was told I could not have the dog because I lived too close to where it was found & the old owner may recognise it & want it back. No amount of pleading would make them budge & the dog was eventually put down. Thats your friendly RSPCA.........SCUM

Sorry to hear about your experience and I can understand that it left a bad taste after...but they obviously had their reasons.
