use bike stuff otherwise the clutch will start slipping and you will probably have to replace it i think.

10W40 bike oil is semi synthetic. If it's only have a liter it'll not be problem just stay away from Catrol car oil with all the additives.

Interesting. There seems to be alot of controversy about oil at the moment. My Dad has a couple of Harley's (not to everyones taste I know),and on their forum, the same subject has been raised. Apparently,if you use a high-quality fully synthetic oil,Bearing skate can occur, basically meaning that the ball/roller bearing literally 'skates' against the surface in which it is supposed to rotate. This can then lead to the bearing to develop flat spots on its surface, eventually ending in catastrophe, instead of uniform even wear!!??

I was also told when I bought my SV that they come with a low quality oil for running in reasons,as again,if there is no friction/contact between mechanical/moving components they cannot 'bed in' properly, resulting in reduced performance.

So it's not just about clutch slip. Seems that everything can be effected!?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
