Default Less of that right hand mister!!

Just took my bike to Banjax in London to get it Dynoed. I was worried that it was running a little rich as I am only getting 80 miles to the tank. Anyway, max power came out at 69.38 bhp , the air/fuel mix is perfect and it was doing 104mph in 4th gear.....sweet!
I asked the guy about the tank range.....told him I rode a lot in London and he told me if I wanted more range to:

a) get a bigger bike
b) less of the right hand
c) get a 125

At least I know now the bike is running as it should......just need to ride "normally" for a full tank to see what difference it makes to the range....it's just too tempting to open it up though

Take it easy,

Paul

BTW, bike is a 99 curvy fitted with a blueflame bi-port oval titanium with the baffles out.

Blimey, you guys are making me feel good!!

Central london every day (with a 13 mile trip on the A2) and 12 miles into the City from the A2......

170 miles is my best, about 150 the average... (about 125-135 before flashing)

Less throttle methinks dude!! But, those stop start stop start bloody lights don't help either.

PS, a 125, been there, you will get bored...
But then a bigger bike won't help either...

Riding sensibly makes an absolutely massive difference to my fuel consumption. Riding really slowly, almost to the point of boredom, I've seen 145 before the fuel light came on, IAM riding, get about 120-130 before the light, going "normally" get 100+-5 and when really ragging it to bits (not that I ever have ), I've had as little as 90.

Above figures are based on my bike, with a stock can (and everything else that'd noticeably affect fuel consumption). 14 stone rider who tends to sit upright rather than tucked in.

I think the bike is using the standard jets, at least I think that's what the previous owner told me. She had the bike tuned for the blueflame can so she might have had them changed....i'll check the paperwork when I get in tonight.

You guys are getting 100 miles + in London? .......hmmm, is there anything else I could do to get mine better?

Well, between lights etc i hardly ever let it rev above 6k. In fact, i hardly let it rev until the roads a bit more clear (like the A2).

I do have my fun times when roads are a bit clear, but find im off the throttle before any real speeds gained, which is a good thing really

I just find im carefull with the right hand and make use of the torque from low down in the revs without straining the engine.

I normally get around the 145 - 155 range the other week had a shock as the light came on on the way to work usually that means i have enough petrol to get home any way filled up the bike went to reset the trip and it was on 170!!! must have been running on vapors the last couple of miles that was lucky!!!!!!! didn't fancy pushing the thing to the petrol station.

I tend to get 90 from riding in London but that is all quick stuff. As others said driving normally gets you more (boring though!!!!). My IAM I got 120 until the light.
