You have to be a qualified instructor to supervise a learner

You can, but only upto 125cc... unless they've changed the rules
I only had my cbt and provisional for 2 years on my first bike, insurance is a killer tho |

Whats been said. You would have to be a qualified, licensed instructor to oversee him. Think that counts for doing the CBT too - after all the person doing it is overseeing signing the official documentation for it.
However, if he still has a current CBT then he can go out legally on a 125cc bike with L plates on his own or with you. Nothing bigger - you cant restrict a bigger bike for CBT it has to be a 125. Tbh, whats the problem with him just doing the DAS over a longer period if he wants more road experience? An extra day would cost a fraction more tbh, but better than him being unlicensed, uninsured and on the road and get pulled or in an accident. If he has no current CBT he cant ride legally on the road even on a 125 on Ls. Only exception is if hes had a car license for yonks and falls under the 50cc moped rule which has now changed. |

You can't do it.Even if you could the cost of insurance would be silly.Tell your mate to go to a decent training school and get a licence even if it takes four days.He knows it makes sense.

Best thing to do is go out and buy a 125 for a bit to get some practise on. Thats what I did kept it 4 months did about 650 miles on it and sold it on for a small loss.
