Default dog bone question

I have just fitted a GSXR rear shock and have noticed that the ride height has dropped a little. Nothing drastic, but I was happier with where it was.

Most of the searches for dog bones have returned stuff about how to jack your bike up, streetfighter style, whereas I'm looking for something a little less aggresive.

Is there a www.dogbones.co.uk type site that someone knows about or are these the kind of things you just make yourself? If so what kind of spec should they be engineered to? Lastly, is there somekind of equation for calculating ride height based on dog bone length for the SV i.e shortening the dog bones by X will increase ride height by Y.

Thanks
Luke

Personaly I wouldn't recomend making them your self you can buy them from bandit mainia, jhs, HG,m+p,Demon tweeks etc.that means they will be tried and tested because you wouldn't want them to fail would you

Default these are very good

These are in the states but have a high degree of craftmanship. Just remember that the material used to make these things is important because of the stresses on that component of the bike.

BTW the chrome ones are $48 and the black steel are around $30.

If you make them yourself, then use decent thick steel bar. Dont worry about the shape. I used 1/8th inch steel flat bar. To raise the bike, you need to shorten the bones. So use your old ones as templates, and make them about an inch and quarter smaller, is in the hole centers. This should raise the bike up a little, then use the pre-load to make the back end lower/Softer etc.

I made my own for my k4.
6mm shorter dogbones(cc) raised the rear about 12 mm.
The bike turns in easier but doesn't behave nervous at
higher speeds.
