Default Maintaining new SV

Hi all

Was originally thinking of selling my SV. Please see post below but have decided will keep it till test gets sorted

http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?p=735743#735743

It is currently covered up with a really good Oxford cover

What else do I need to do to maintain it till I can actually ride it?

I'm expecting the battery to go flat too.

Cheers all

Or you have the option of fitting an battery optimiser, if its inside that is. If not I would strongly reccomend starting it for 10 minutes a week and maybe every 2/3 weeks a quick ride round the block to use all the systems, brakes, gearbox clutch etc. Also F+R Paddock stands would be a good idea.

Glad you decided to keep it mate, you won't regret that decision. Are you waiting for nice weather before riding, or how long are you keeping it wrapped up for?

So battery optimiser.... anything else? dont i need to spray it to keep rust at bay or something

I would prefer to keep it till warmer weather to ride to be honest as I dont want biking on ice in -8 weather to be my learning curve

I'd give it a liberal coat of WD40 or GT85, not the brakes or the paint work.
Rotate the wheels so the tyres don't develop a flat spot from squatting in the same place. If you got a pressure gauge and pump handy put an extra couple of psi in there to make sure they don't deform.
