Default Missing Royal Mail Post

Can anybody help...

I'm no convinced that for whatever reason Royal Mail are not delivering my post to me.

Liz is now waiting for insurance documents for her Duke 2 sets, a letter for a job interview from work.

This follows on from a history of stuff going missnig or not being delivered over the last 3 or so months.

How do I go about complaining about this at least finidng out if there is an actual problem ?

Sorry if it sounds patronising - not intended, but have you contacted Royal Mail? You could try this link... http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/j...mediaId=400144

Only problem we had was postie walking across our newly laid lawn (sounds grand - its just a patch really) we contacted the local sorting office and to be fair they stopped it. Good luck - and don't forget a postal strike is due 29th June

Fizz ring your local delivery office they will tell you if they are holding mail for some reason, failing that do you always have the same postman? royal mail customer care will look into if the mail is being stolen or dumped. tomorrows strike day and the RM are getting anyone who breathes to deliver mail it is going to be chaos.

Cheers Kwak I'll pop into the main sorting office which is near my house and speak to somebody face to face rather than over the phone.

Yes we always have the same postwoman, or we have done for the last few weeks anyway.

I dont think its being dumped as we are getting the leaflets that the postie puts throught he door.

Is your road a unique name for the area?

I am getting a similar problem, but in reverse … I get lots of mail for a road with a similar name to mine (in the same town/area).

There is a good chance that your postie is posting stuff, but its actually going to the other address … you then would have to hope that that person returns to post office rather than takes the easy option and simply chucks in the bin …

It took me 3 visits to the PO to get them to STOP delivering the other roads mail to me … I still get the odd one ... have to admit it goes in the bin now

Just a though

All the road names are unique.

I did have a spell of getting mail for the people in 3 streets away though, I wander if like you say the problems happening in reverse now.

Mine is unique, just similar if you don't read it properly (or is badly written) postcode and name should trigger postie's brain, but it don't!!

Might be worth a friendly visit to said house just to ask the question

Best going face to face... From previous experience its easier to go and speak to them than make dozens of phone calls.

My parents had a problem last year when they reorganised their rounds and lost a few houses. All the mail was being returned to sender as there was no matching house number at the sorting office...

No doubt some kind of cockup on their part or they have a thief somewhere in your area.

Blue - All the roads on my estate are named after tree's no way could you get that muddled up.

Ian - I'd like to think its something similar but I am getting mail, just its really sporadic, and we've had a real history of things we're expecting not turning up...
