Default THE GREAT NORTH SV RIDEOUT 8th July UK

THE GREAT NORTH SV RIDEOUT 8th July UK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As part of the national SV1000 meeting and ride out weekend HERE http://www.sv1000.zyns.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=14405 I have added this thread to all SV owners who wish to ride and hook up with us or just meet at points at the stop locations. When I have done a couple more test runs I will be able to tell you when you can expect us at the locations below. I have added links to the main ones to help and also a map.

If you wish to be there just add your name below.

The routes for Saturday. 8th July 216 miles

Duddon valley Duddon estuary, pass my house A595 then into Ulpha and Berker fell then I will lead you over Hardknott and Wrynose pass http://www.cumbria-calling.com/drives/drive3-passes.htm with a stop just before for the first cup of tea at the little ratty. You will need it before you undertake the next few miles. From there I will plan a route around some of the lesser-known lakes roads. Finally making a stop at the famous Devils bridge bike meet http://www.first4gear.com/bikemeets/devilsbridge.html. I have planed this for the Saturday, as we may not get a parking space on the Sunday for all of us.

The SATURDAY ride will involve the highest café in England at Hearthside the famous A686, http://www.visitcumbria.com/pen/hartside.htm the boys who did the UK northern meet will tell you all about this road Andyw will tell you more . After that I will take you over to the Penny garth cafe at HAWES http://www.pennygarthcafe.co.uk/. Then it’s a fast down the dales road (this will blow you away) from Hawes then back passed Devils Bridge (stop if you wish here) then to the hotel and home.

The routes for SUNDAY to be added at later a date.

im off that weekend. Might be able to attend.

Ive been on mass rideouts before and one thing i found was that it was vital to have someone at the front of the group who can keep the pace reasonable. Otherwise it becomes a race at the front and those at the rear get left behind.

Looks great, and the best thing is my dad only lives a few miles from the first meet point,
So if grandparents can look after the kids I'm sure Sam and I are up for this..
