Default Impatience...

Taken from my wife's post on another forum after the duke breaking down and getting knocked over:

I'd been out the previous evening for a wee bimble, and had filled up on my way back. Jet garage - super unleaded - proper job (a la scrapheap challenge style-ee).

Got on the duke to go to Haslar, travelled motorway - fine. Through Gosport - fine. Halfway down Fareham Road I thinks the bike feels a bit chuggy. Open the throttle and, yup, starts to splutter and then dies. I mirror check, indicate, then coast to the pavement. Park-up, phone Grinch, give it a go at starting. Bike kicks into life, so I re-helmet and gloves and off I go. (Bear with me, I know I'm rambling).

Got about 300 yards and I feel it starting to splutter again. So I mirror check, indicate, and coast the bike towards the side of the road. I wave the impatient git behind me past, which seems to aggravate him so he revs the valves off of his corsa, lurches around me but clips the bum of my bike. Me and bike go flying, he sod's off.

No damage to the bike as crash mushrooms and bar-end weight took the bump. My shoulder and hip a bit sore, but no damage there really. Guy behind him saw what happened but only got a partial plate number. Phoned the police, reported it, but guess what? Still awaiting a call-back.

So if anyone in Fareham Road, Gosport saw this little butt-hole in a blue Corsa knock a girl off of a ducati yesterday.... don't call the police, just give the git a slap. Twice. With a closed fist. Ta muchly.

Oh, and HUGE gratefullnesses to Mark.... you star.... for coming to my rescue in Military Road, waiting with me till the troops arrived, making me laugh sooooo much, and then putting my poor baby on the low-loader for me. (And I didn't tell you about boy-corsa mate, coz I knew you'd rant and possibly chin every bloke in a blue corsa for miles around... lol). :worthy:

Mark loading my poor baby to be chauffered home, care of Boarhunt.
So if you see any Blue Corsa's give them a chin from me...
Would be nice if the Old Bill gave us a call back.
So now I have to find a new crash mushroom and bar-end weight, while trying to figure out whats wrong with the bike. Not to mention Jax is rather sore.

That's a total bugger. Hopefully the police will be able to match the part registration to the car.

That's outrageous, I hope he's found and appropriate action* taken. Wnaker.

Glad you're not badly hurt.

The really sad thing is that it's becoming indicative of society as a whole (and one of the reasons, I believe, that this forum is so popular - the attitude here is quite the opposite). Only the whip is good enough for low-life's like that. It could have been a lot worse but please wish Jax well from me and Mrs jonboy.

Hope shes ok today Grinch mate.

As for the Duke sounds like water in the fuel.

A firend of mine filled her car up a couple of weeks ago, and splutterd to a halt a fe miles down the road. RAC man came out and took a smaple of fuel to find that it was approximatly 50% water She is in contact with Asda as we speak probably along with everyone else that filled up no doubt!
