Default CBR600RR

Yowza! Borrowed my bosses CBR for the evening under seat exhaust, stealth black etc.) What a mental machine. Great handling (though suspension set too hard for little ol' me) and awesome brakes. The engine though is just insane. I gave up at 90mph and 13500rpm in 2nd. I won't tell you what I got upto in 3rd but it got there chuffin' quick and I didn't use more than 3rd throttle. I definitely wouldn't want to own one, far too single minded for me. Not sure I'd want to ride one on the track either. More terrifying than fun I'd reckon. I borrowed the Urban Tiger 'Blade he had a few years back and though that was loopy but this is worse. Hate to think what a Gixxer 1000 must be like!

Don't get me wrong, I like a bit of speed, used to club race (very badly mind!) but my brain just can't cope with that kind of acceleration.

I like the SV, although the suspension is a bit cack, because you can thrash it and have fun at sensible(ish) speeds and approach the machines capabilities. Not sure I'd be happy on a bike that is soooo much better than me.

Maybe I'm just getting old!

I've heard that Honda make boring, bland, characterless bikes

If boring and bland in Japanese translates in to axe wielding, corner seeking, stealthy terrain following missile then yes you're right.

It is undoubtedly a fantastic bike but it would take a while to adjust to. I cut my evening ride short as I was going to get myself into trouble. Just insanely quick. I was thinking "this ain't so bad" until it hit the powerband and then all hell broke loose! If I had one then I'd either lose my licence of spank myself up good an proper.
