Hi guys
I was just checking the air filter on my new k3 and noticed that the snorkel on the airbox could be a potential restriction has anyone removed this and does it make any difference? i would have thought the sound would be better. Im also going to fit a road/race can with removable baffles and jsut wondered how this mod would effect the fueling. cheers marc |

You can either remove it or replace it with an SV1000 snorkle, which is (marginally) less restrictive.
Raising the tank will also potentially increase airflow into the airbox, and give you a great induction roar. If you are going to go down these routes then I recommend you consider a remap - the standard ECU might cope however my SV1000 now runs a lot smoother with a custom remap.

The ECU doesn't have a lambda sensor so won't adjust for the extra air flow, so it's possible that you will need a remap.
