Just about anywhere in Europe is better than the UK. Next month I am going to Villedieu-les-Poeles with Jo. Have a friend who has moved there. Going via Calais and taking the scenic route there. 5 days of glorious roads and sunshine (I hope).

Australia, it's a long way but so much fun when you get there. Spent a day trail biking in the north Queensland rain forest, did 200km off-road on a Yam XT400. Loads of other stuff to do - whitewater rafting, diving, horse riding, extreme sports, charter sailing boats, mountain biking, pretty much anything. The rest of Oz has a lot to offer but up there they seem to be trying to fit it all in one place.

Other than that - Scotland is tops, and it's close enough to take your bike, which is well worth the hours of drag up the motorway. Glasgow if you want a city for a weekend, or up the west coast if you want the scenery, walking, skiing (sometimes), sailing, etc.

The Vosges in Alsace are my favourite area so far.

Closer to home the Ardenees are good. Big trip in a months time, 2 weeks on the SV, trying to decide between a mega tour of the Alps or eastern europe, recommendations to help my decision are welcomed, I just can't decide.
