Does anyone have a bike lift for their home tinkering?
I am currently working on a project VFR400 and need some suggestions as to the best sort of bike lift or alternative to use. I need something which I can lift and support the bike while both wheels and front forks are removed. Any ideas on suppliers/costs etc? Cheers, Si |

Look no further than http://www.bikegrab.com/ i ordered a wheel chock from them for transporting the bike without too many tie downs..swift delivery and excellent product. I am sure you will find something usefull on there.

I've just bought a Sealey MC365 bike workbench. Having a bike at a decent level when you're working on it is as good as everyone has said. However, I wish I'd spent more money and bought the next size up (twice the price though), as it's not really long enough and certainly you couldn't use a rear wheel paddock stand on it - no way. All my bikes however, SV included, have centre stands.

Thanks Racer.
I had seen this site and that was what prompted me to post my query - £300+ for the lift I need ![]() It may well be that I have to bite the bullet and get one but was hoping to keep it under £200. This rebuild is spiraling in costs! |

Just did a search under Sealey MC365 and it looks like the MC402 is what I am looking for.
Thanks chazzyb |

I'm sure you have already had a look at:
http://www.abbastands.co.uk/ But it may be worth giving them a ring. A while a ago a chap from Abba, offered org members a discount on their products. If you do a search on this site, you should be able to find his contact details. I bought a superbike stand after the offer expired, but he still honoured the discount. Maybe worth looking into. |

The Eazyrizer does look a bit better than the ABBA lift... But then, it's more than 50% more. I got an Abba lift in a fit of enthusiasm a while back but I've rarely used it, it's a bit of a pain in the bum to use and for most jobs, I just use the regular abba stand. Very stable, mind, I've absolutely no concerns there. I could probably be convinced to sell it to you, nudge nudge

Possibility of a cheap stand on ebay. If it falls through I will give you a shout Northwind.

Si, I bought a Clarke hydraulic lift from MachineMart a couple of years ago
its been good for anything I have done so far and lifts me v-rod no probs, you can actually use it for moving/turning in tight spaces as well think it was 115 quid - as I say, excellent value |
