ShaggyZ'll be delighted, he's famous That was filmed on the SV Rider rally at Deal's Gap this year. He binned it twice over the weekend... Someone said "You need to hang off further", so he did and then crashed faster next time...

Odd crash.

The back end went on him not the front. May have hit the dirt and lost grip.

Looks like he countersteered too aggressively and the tyres simply weren't up to that angle of lean.

Pilot Powers, I think. Definately not the Dunlops. Look at him lean! The concensus from those that were there was that there was no dirt, no mechanical issues, he just went in too fast on slightly cold tyres, I think. Looks reasonable to me.

It started the most uninformed, ill-educated thread ever about what causes crashes. "Your line was all wrong man, you should have started at the centreline. You can actually see when you realise you're off line half way through and tried to turn in" was my personal favourite. And any number of "You need to hang off more" and "Your techique is poor". "You should learn to ride before you try to go that fast". etc etc.

I'm going to get a camera and record the Ecosse Posse trying to get through the Duke's pass intact, I could be on YouTube too

Ouch, looks like the road is a bit off camber and then there is a bit of a dip - not good when you are already leant right over...

Yeah. I think this is a very good point. It was a weird crash alright. I watched it about 4 times, and then decided I couldnt figure out why he went over, so I was going to keep my ignorant trap shut.

Maybe Northy is right too. He doesnt look like he made any mistakes to me...
At least he had his motosliders on.

Never had an issue with the d220's and got my knee down every weekend. I think it's rider error or maybe dodgy surface? Unless of course his tyres were shagged.

Had a good watch and it looks as if it was a mixture of the camber and the back on losing traction sliding out and rather than gripping and highsiding the front goes as well. Lucky really that the guy behind had enough sense to keep a safe distance. Makes for good tv though!
