Default Pillions & oscillating frequency of the bike

I consider myself to be a modern man, metro-sexua1 etc.

I'll be taking some girls pillion over the next few weeks. Hooray.

I've been told by one of my mates that you can make the bike vibrate if you get it at certain revs in certain gears - this is called the, "oscillating frequency" apparently. It's the reason why soldiers don't march in formation over bridges - the oscillating frequency makes the bridge wobble a bit.

Anyways back to the topic in hand. Here's what I was thinking:

1. Find the oscillating frequency of the bike.
2. Get the pillion passenger on the bike.
3. Ride at the oscillating frequency for a half an hour.
4. All going to plan, the vibrations will work a treat on the pretty pillion, give her a nice little treat.
5. Go for a drink afterwards, whereupon she'll be putty in my hands.

So, oscillating frequency...anyone know the approx revs per gear for this?

Thanks!!!!

Probably depends on weight of both riders as well along with the ammount of padding they have placed on the bike.

You mean resonant frequency.

I think someones winding you up mate.

Soldiers making a bridge rock by marching at its resonant frequency is one thing, but making your bike vibrate to excite a young lady is another

Says you.
I don't know about deliberately finding the right frequency, but the vibrations through the pillion pad definitely can have an effect.

6-12hz is the frequency that gets the ladies going . I remember this from my Sound off competing days. However, 4hz, will kill you stone dead, so be warned!!

At last an answer!

Cheers Viney - as Columbo once said, "Just one more question: how does that break down in to rpm?"

There's a pillion pleasurer that you can buy and fit into the seat... I forget what it's called though.
