Default ZX9R test ride..

As some of you may remember I posted I may be changing to a ZX9R, if my mate decides to sell! (He's still not sure)

Took it for a test ride yesterday. What can I say. Totally different to the 'V' we all love on here. But so so quick.
Apart from a battery that's nearly sha*ged, it rides so sweet. Only bugbear is false neutrals! Must have hit about 6-7 yesterday..

Mate on Gixxer 750 came out with me and we had fun fun fun!!
He's a very experienced rider, but there wasn't much in it. We 'ate' the roads yesterday!! I have ridden his 750 and although the power is awesome, I don't think I could own one. (Sorry Fizz)! Just feels too small for me. Whereas the kwak feels just right..

So 'if' he sells, SV may be going off to a loving home. (I'll miss ya, especially all the polish I've put on you)!

And as I said, it's a 99 'V' plate (C2) with 1500, yes 1500 miles on the clock!!

You're right all you've done is polish it

Ah ZX9R.One of the cheapest ways to go very fast. But a word of warning----either the C1 or C2 model had a gearbox problem.I can't remember the details but a few of them lunched their gearboxes for no obvious reason at low mileages. You said you got a lot of false neutrals. Was that you or something wrong with the box?I've got a later 9 and the box is sweet as a nut.It may be worth getting on a 9 forum and asking advice on this.

1500 miles in 7 years is insane! I have done 1600 miles on my new Zed in 5 weeks!

Sounds like a right rocketship though! Personally I would get that gearbox looked at, you dont want to buy a lemon...
