Default Advice ingored (or Heart ruling the Head)

A lot of people have give me a lot of good advice on this forum, most of which I have taken on board and followed.

One piece that I have now ignored is "try before you buy"

Yes folks, I just went and ordered a new Red SV650SK6.

Hopefully I will get it delivered next weekend, so it is sitting waiting for me on the 24th when I hopefully get through on my second test.

Main reason for jumping the gun is that I just want an SVS

Secondary reason, with plans etc for the end of the month, if I was to wait I may have lost out on the opportunity of the 3yr 0% option.

So, next weekend I will have joined the club

Thats two of us with bikes on order! You waiting for the new 56 plate? Would make sense me thinks, esp as Sep is so close, and you are still awaiting your test pass?

Just a thought.

Is that the deal then? Keep it below certain revs for 600 miles?

And I am not goign to be able to use it until the 29th ....

Hmmm maybe something to ask about - but then the 0% might not be available, and also whats in a number really - its obviously a K6 (colour)

I did that too, ended up buying my SV before I had my license. It worked out rather well, though I only went to see it as a dry run for proper SV showing, but I'd decided to buy it after about, oh, a minute

It's in the owner's manual.

Below 5000rpm for the first 500 miles, then below 7500rpm until 1000 miles have been done. First service (oil and filter change) is due at 600 miles.
