Default How deep is the original tread? d220s

Got a K3 that's done about 8500miles, mostly upright commuting from when the Mrs had it.

Looked at the front tyre a bit more closely the other day and the central grooves seem a bit shallow.
Stuck a key in and had a quick measure. - about 2.5mm.

What's the original depth?

ie
How worn is it?

Back's about the same

The edges are untouched

Time for new rubber?

Legal minimum is 1mm accorss 75% of the tyre, so you can run them a bit longer if needed, They're going to be getting past their best though, have a look in the tyres section for some good replacement options

New tyres come out of the tyre factory with around 7mm tread iirc, possibly 8mm.

Tyres have a strange habit of getting through the last few mm much quicker than expected. I had at least 2mm when I set off for the Norf/Sarf - after 250 miles of mainly motorway riding on the way up there they were looking very sad. By the time I got back home (another 650 miles or so) they were completely shagged

thats nearly 1000 miles though, and the heat going into the centres through motorway riding, what you expect?
