Default Strange question but.......

What would cause the cold water fed from a mains to go really cloudy....almost looks like milk???

Sometimes caused by a burst/repaired water main letting air into the system.. had the same a few times, they usually say boil the water before drinking it till it clears.

HAve your neighbours got the same problem? If so, draw some off, stick it in a bottle and call/send it to you local water authority.

Lime in the water... usualy in the water after repairs have been done on pipes...

every now and then ours comes out cloudy, its a cleaning agent they put in every so often (or so we are told)
