Ive fitted my oxford heated grips and tonight went for a 20 minute test ride. The grips are good but they dont get very hot ![]() My mate has some on his suzuki burgman and they get really hot ![]() ![]() I read somewhere that sv clip ons sap some of the heat and im guessing this is whats wrong. Is there an easy way to fix this????? Anyone else had this issue? |

What setting are they one? Mine only get too hot at 75% or 100%.

mine aren't oxford and get quite hot but take about 20mins to warm up. Which is ok cos it takes me about 20mins to get cold.
I've read about certain versions of the oxford grips which aren't suitable for the SV bars tho. Do a search for the details - there's specific version numbers that are affected.

My oxford grips get really hot. Just rode home in them in this temperature. Maybe yours are faulty.

heat isn't directional. Oxprod admits freely that there was a problem with them. Its on the forum.

I had mine fitted and spliced into the side lights and they got really hot . I have since sold the sv and now have a zx9r . I have put the same grips on this and now they only get warm .??????????????? . Maybe it depends on the current of the wire youre spliced into .

Current doesn't really work like that. A device has a resistance, the supply has a voltage. The current is a result of these.

Yeah, the really old hotgrips didn't work well with solid alloy bars, because the grips had no insulation on the inside, and the bar was too good a heat sink. But that's years ago now.
