I swapped my D220's & went for Pirelli Diablos , I was torn between them & Z6's
Decided to go forthe stickier Diablo . Now I thought the difference between the D220's would be big , but not this big . Within 30 miles of tyres fitted I 've lost half of my LHS hero blob , on a favourite Left hander which I could take at about 60 mph on the d220's I can take at 75 dragging the peg all the way round , and the tyre felt rock solid like you could learn them further & further . Once worn through hero blobs what goes down next ? On the fazer it was the exhaust that went down on the RHS ? I had to change the pegs on the fazer before I sold it as I thought it would put buyer off , ![]() Cheers Steve

I agree once you start hitting solid items like exhausts on the deck you are in the sh#t!
I fitted jack up plates on the fazer which helped , might give it a go on the sv Cheers Steve

Glad you like the Diablos.
How's the side stand? Might want to add a bit more preload but putting in shorter dogbones helps too. With the std sizes fitted you can get right to the edge of the front but still have about 8mm of unused rear. I've just put on a 70 profile front today and after sliding the forks through it feels magic! I was starting to ride off the edge of the 60 front (on the track) and it was starting to tuck, not good. The little tridents on the edge of the tyre were competely gone. Great tyres, they've got my vote. |

Just checked side stand , yep the lug has been down , got rear preload one off max already, so will try some shorter dog bones to left the rear a bit .
the front tridents have gone , the rear has about 7mm left. Cheers Steve

Diablo tyres transformed my riding, a lot of people will argue that they will never get to optimum operating temperature on the road and are therefore overkill but the confidence they give me is absolute.
Never once have they stepped out or given any cause for concern, correct operating temperature or not, they are great tyres. |

I had Michelin pilot powers fitted on friday and by 25miles the right peg was down. Not even trying!! Fooking ace they are. scraped my left boot on some twisties today as well!
Can't belive the difference |

May want to go to max preload to give you some more ground clearance. I was having similar probs until I increased it and with the ZX636 shock in the extra clearance in noticeable.

Right,
You guys that are getting pegs / sidestand ( ![]() I have a favourite set of bends where I feel I achieve the highest lean angle on my route, I've currently got around half an inch chicken strip on the rear and the tyres have always felt totally stable, but I worry that they will suddenly let go if I go further, am I being 'chicken'!? Should I just go for it and hope I can correct a slide it if occurs, or should I be confident that a new Z6 will grip long enough for peg / sidestand down action? Cheers for any replies, Matt |
