Default Road Rage - Have you ever lost it?

It happened to me once a long time ago. I completely lost it. I remember banging on this guys car door in a rage after he cut me up. Cursing and swearing like a good un. It was totally out of character for me. Talk about the red mist. From that day on I swore not to lose it again. I never did too.

Have you ever commited road rage?

Time to confess your sins maybe.......

Nearly did when i hit a car that was overtaking on my right-hand side when i was TURNING RIGHT. It turned out to be an old lady who was:

"trying to avoid"

me. I checked my signal, it was indicating right.

Oh dear. I couldnt loose it with her though, i didnt want her to die on me cos i induced a heart attack

Not exactly, although I have been known to shout profanities at other drivers when I'm in the car. I suppose that it's a bit like having Turettes

Used to do it a lot but not so much now. Remember once having a car pull out on me on a dual carriageway and basically I wanted him dead. Looking back now it was my own fault for putting myself in that position (three figure speed). I imagine the first time he looked in his mirror I wasnt there!! Lesson learnt.

There are a fair few nutters out there, when you read about people getting stabbed, seriously maimed etc you realise that its not worth it.

The worst I did was with a BMW driver (quelle suprise!).

I was cycling down the road, he pulled out about 2 foot in front of me (I was doing a good 30mph) and then stopped in the road, I could only conclude he did that to get me to ride into him. I whacked the roof of his car as I swerved up the inside (the only escape I had). He then floored it down to the end of the road and handbraked it into a left and swung across the road in front of me. He got out and gave it a whole load of "Why did you hit my car you f*!?!** person you. You cyclists think you own the road. I pay road tax you don't you should be on a cycle path before you kill yourself.....You damaged my car..." (you get the gist)
He got the "You pulled out in front of me, how do you know how much road tax I pay, show me the cycle path because I haven't found it in the last 5 years and you look like a f*!?!?! pr!ck" reply.

Come to think of it I did also kick a car a few months ago because they deliberately tried shunting me into a lorry on the way to work. The driver was too frightened to look at the dent in the passenger door. The biker behid me gave her the earful on my behalf

Comparitively my red mist incident seems kind of minor.

Mini-roundabout, I was turning right and a car coming from the left slowed down. I figured since I had right of way, I'd use that right. They must of assumed that the highway code doesn't exist, or that they really wanted a new door, as the looked at me, and just went ahead and pulled out.

This forced me to change my line around the roundabout, and hit the brakes quite hard. I'd had a bad day in the office, and wasn't concentrating on gears coming up to the roundabout. So I opened the throttle fully as soon as I could & stuck the main beam on.

I had to resort to beeping the horn as I went past, because I was in first gear, and the result of full throttle straight after the brakes meant I passed the car on the back wheel

I used to get very aggressive driving the car, but have never got out due to another driver. I reckon that was probably more the "my car is bigger than yours is, so you can move!" attitude.

Now I try to leave a bad day at the office exactly there, at the office. The SV is to be enjoyed, and I can't do that whilst wound up from work. However, this has the down side that the bad day is seemingly still waiting for me the next morning

They probably didn't see you (they're not checking properly, blind spot due to the massive support pillars), I assume all cars never see me when I'm on my bike.

I try not get annoyed on the bike, have only muttered into my helmet what a c*nt some people are.

In the car I have honked my horn once at cars who cut me up and driven closer to their rear for a few seconds before backing off.

There's no point in losing the plot completely.
