Default SV650 Glossary

I've posted this in the Tweaking section but I thought there might be a lot of good stuff from guys who frequent the B-T&I section as well.

Kilted Ginger on the SV Eccosse forum made a very good point that a lot of posts presume we all know the various terms, abreviations and acronyms. Things like "pointy", "curvy" "hero blobs" etc. I certainly wonder what a lot of stuff means.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I've compiled a wee online dtabase at

http://designoverload.co.uk/sv650

If possible - please add as much as of your expertise as you can. If you see an explanation already added then by all means add your own take on it. I can merge them all together.

You can add photos but these will be queued - only to prevent outsiders uploading dodgy crap.

Cheers

I thought Pointy/Curvey was to do with the frame rather than/as well as the body panels?

Just found the other pages
ScottOiler - Should refer to the other makes available that do the same job e.g. loobman, Hawk etc.
Tail tidy - Could explain what a snow shovel is and refer to the fact that tail tidy is generally only relevant to the pointy model.
Seat cowl - if it available from Suzuki, is it aftermarket?
Baffle - The stock can comes with a baffle that the US guys on SVrider like to remove by a mufflerectomy. Also I would more describe it as something that is removed to increase sound
Static sag - The amount that the weight of the bike compresses the suspension without any extra weight such as rider, luggage etc
Yokes - Flat piece of metal with 3 holes in it holding the forks. There is a top and a bottom yoke.
My clipons are attached to my forks not my yokes.
BTW what are clipons?
Tuning - TRE = Timing Retard Eliminator
Tyres - You've described 14's as 20's

I didn't write any of these (except the stradas)- all submitted by other people. Instead of posting here why not post on the glossary. Put in a correction if you feel neccessary. Like I say, if it builds it will be useful.

Yeah but I was kinda looking for a discussion before they get posted up as half of my points were questions.

Unless the Database could be edited by all in a Wiki style?
