Default City Police - One of my lives used up

Riding home last night, I was passing a bus that started to pull out so I gunned it and had to go onto the hatchings to pass safely.

Just as I passed the bus, a City copper stepped out in the road and signalled me to stop.

I pulled over and he said

"What is the mortal sin you have just commited"

"Entering a hatching" I said (knowing that he did not have a speed gun so there was no way I was going to admit to speeding)

"Apart from the moving traffic offence, what is the mortal sin you have just commited" he said

At this point I was a little confused as to what he wanted me to say, then I saw his sod-off assult rifle so I thought of saying "f*cking with a copper with a gun" but decided against it.

A silence fell and he finally said:

"If you are going to speed, with a race pipe and a black visor, whilst being in a hatched line, make sure you look to see if there are any of us (coppers) watching"

He then let me on my way.....

Top copper, cheers mate!

So, they really are not all bad

LMAO!

He probably has a bike & rides like a c-nut himself! Top bloke though just scaring you witless to try & make you think twice without bothering about licence etc.

FWIW, the highway code also states you have to give way to busses. Pedantic antics over.

Assuming he mean sawn-off assault rifle (rather than an intimidating assault rifle), well an MP5 could be seen in that light.

Pedantic I know, but another of bad spoken language leading to bad spelling - the corruption path probably being having heard sawed used for sawn, then spelling how it sounds.

GRRRR

David - wishing he could just leave these things alone but............

I thought he was trying to politely call it a big **** off gun.

Didn't realise the police were issued with sawn off shotguns - thought that was just Cockney bank robbers

It's cheaper than teaching them how to shoot straight in the first place!

Ah yes but to get even more pedantic on you... The Higway Code is a collection of suggestions based around parts of the road traffic act laws. Vey little of the Highway Code is law and the part about a bus being let out is simply a ploy to help the traffic flow. There is no way you HAVE to let a bus pull out no matter how much the monkey driving it wants you to believe its true.
Pedantics off.

And most London cops who are routinely armed carry MP5s as well as a handgun in the holster. Its the fellas on the rooftops near ambassies whomhave the full on assult rifle with sights etc

Plus, these days it's fine to shoot innocent bystanders: Just say they were terrorists.

It's a good thing that you didn't have a small plate, or you really would have been in trouble
