Default Little help...

Is anyone here bloody dam good at maths? I need some help with rearanging an equation (the Karplus equation)...it has a trigonomical function in it which im having trouble with

Googled Karplus equation and came up with this.

J(φ) = A * cos2(φ − 60) − B * cos(φ − 60) + C

What about it?

Sounds like you need to PM Prof. He should be pretty good on that sort of thing if its Maths stuff.

I'm fairly certain that, in most cases, 2 + 2 = 4...

... except for all those times when it seems to only make 3.

Oh yeah, and that one in a million chances often come up nine times out of ten.

dont look at me.. Im in the same boat as K.. 2 + 2 = -5 most times with me... if I want to get 4.. Ive got to cheat!

I can legitimately get 2 + 2 to equal 10 or 11* though it probably doesnt help... :P

* base 4 and base 3

Law - im using a simplified version:

J = A * cos^2(dihedral angle) - 0.28

I need to find an expression for the dihedral angle term - the cosine function is giving me greif
