Default something my daughter said.

went out tonight on my dads scooter and took my 8 year old daughter for a ride with me to a friends house, on the way home i went round a corner quite quickly and she said "dad could you not go round corners that fast because i havent got those plastic things on my trousers like you have"

when i got home i told my wife what the daughter had said and she said "dont worry emma you wont need sliders your dads havent touched the ground yet!"

My lad started on the back at age 9 or so. He wasn't scared so no problem. Getting him to sit still in corners was, as he wanted to see what was going on! Luckily they don't really weigh enough to upset the bike.

Getting good kids gear is hard but essential. Make sure thay have good kit and they will feel safer. I managed to get some excellent second hand gear from the 'for Sale' board at Squires, as the original owner grew out of them, Sold em on that way too. If you have older kids, small ladies leathers can fit.

Avoid hard braking unless absolutely neccessary, their grip is not that strong and in gloves thier little fingers do not go round the grab rail properly. You might try them 'love handle' things that go round your middle for them to hang on to.
