SV650S '99-'00 £1500

Hi,
After passing my test i'm looking for my first bike. I've got around £1500 (can stretch a small bit upwards) to buy my first SV.

As long as there is no major damage (i'm guessing a few scratches should be expected on a bike of this age, but I dont want my first bike to be a wreck),
it's not yellow (my girlfriend doesn't like yellow, and she's lending me the cash)
and theres less that 25k on the clock (i'm planning on commuting around 20k a year so i need a reasonable milage to start with) I'd be very interested.

I like the bike but I was looking for the half faired S version as i'm looking to commute down the motorway. I'm assuming that the little screen on the front, although very cool, wouldn't offer much in the way of wind blast protection tho?

it does offer some wind protection, i find it's fine up to about 90mph

You know you could always respray the bike if the yellow ones are too fast for you

I'd not thought of this as an option, Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to get it professionally re-sprayed? and how long it would take?

I'm trying to get an insurance quote for your bike with all the mods, hopefully they should get back to me later.

Just a couple of questions, how do the mods effect the bike (i'm curious about that rear swingarm especially), whats the mileage, and roughly where do you live?
