Winter Stuff - SV650.org

Hello All,

Sorry about this but I cant find the thread with the info in.

It was mentioned on here a while ago about some spray stuff in can that can be bought from M&P and is used by the amercian air force to reduce corrosion. Folk use it on there bike during the winter months.

Does anyone know what its called?

as its quite expensive..... would the cheaper stuff you get in £1 shops do the same job?

Yeah, but like most things in this life, probably not as well as the proper stuff, i know the ACF-50 stays on for months and months.

Good stuff, really sticks on, a few pointers:
- It really creeps into everything! Don't spray anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE, near brakes.
- Did I mention it really sticks on? Getting it off if you want a clean and sparkly bike for the summer is a bit of a pain.
- It attracts all the dirt and gunge going. Once it's on (did I mention it really sticks?) your bike will very soon look sh*t for the winter.

I did try FS365 the winter before, but that stuff washes off in a rain shower, so not much cop in my view.

If you're not interested in gunking up your bike, get hold of some silicone lubricant spray and put plenty around your engine. Acts as a water repellent, and also makes your bike look nice and shiny as opposed to dull and cacked up.

The beauty of the ACF 50 is that it chemically reduces corrosion and stops any already there. For the price of it, £20 for two tins, is it worth risking your pride and joy, which is worth several thousands? I used the stuff all through last winter and the bike appears to be as new, NO corrosion.

ACF-50 is the stuff you want. Never tried it myself, I use wd40 from the pound shop, usually go through a 3-4 every winter.
