Some Kind Of Monster.
I'm probably the only one who is interested, but I understand More 4 are showing this film this Wednesday @ 9pm. For those of you who don't know, it is a documentary of Metallica around the time they were recording their last album 'St. Anger' (incidentally, their worst album to date!)
If you have not seen it and you are a Metallica/Rock fan, it is worth a look.........for those of you without lives!

Is it any good? I went off metallica around the time of St Anger - i still like their older stuff (black album and before) but everything after that feels a bit...lame. You just know they can do better - specialy with ...And Justice For All among their discography.
Best metallica DVD? Live S*** - Binge and Purge. Newstead is a god! Matt |

 big metallica fan here.............. but they have wimped out i think the black was good but down hill from there.........1st four albums  are the best ..............now im off to HG

It is worth watching. Yeah, bit of a shame when Newstead was kicked out. They really should have involved him more in the 'creative process' !

It's more about relationships than the coolest band ever.
for a metallica (music) dvd get Live ****, Binge and Purge. It's got a dvd of the Justice for All tour. When Metallica were still cool. You can see on hte tour for the black album - also on hte DVD box set - where it all went wrong. FWIW: Worst Metallica album, IMHO, Load/Reload then the philharmonic rubbish. |

Kinvig - the orchestra thing wasnt too bad. The load/reload thing was a pile of crap, with a scattering of good songs. Nothing is worse than st anger, unless the new album is super-mega-borrocks. There was a sneaky video on youtube a while ago where they played a new song live - kirk hammetts guitar solo's return, but it didnt sound as creative as some of his former work. Still, a guitar solo is a guitar solo, and in these days of crappy indie bands, you gotta take 'em whereever they come from!
So, everyones favorite metallica song? Mine's a toss-up between Fade To Black and Through The Never Matt |

Actually, it is either No Leaf Clover or Welcome Home, Sanitarium.
Kinvig, cant agree with you on S&M, while it does seem like a bit of a gimmick, the mixture actually works really well..........especially, No Leaf Clover! Ok, perhaps Master of Puppets is on the list as well.
