Anyone had any experience of these? Thinking about getting them for my GSXR conversion:

Prolight disks work very well, but rust at the slight hint of rain (not a problem as its only cosmetic on the iron disks, one spin and its gone). Thoes look like the race versions (Turbo Rotor), they are rebuildable if needed. If EBC disks are warped most companies will not offer to straighten them and say its not possable or they have not had good success sorting them out. Overall they are good.
Most peeps say go for the OEM gsxr disks as they are good enough and will last, or go for some good Galfer disks.

![]() I don't like EBC myself as they pad swept area is prone to producing rust if not used for even a day in the right condition. This is due to the high iron content which whilst good for improved braking performance is not very good for road bikes IMO. Cheers Ben |

Thanks guys, I emailed the seller and he said they have been used in two endurance races and a track day so he hinted that they could be race discs, I'll leave them and try find some OEM discs.

Oh yeh, they are also not very good in the wet, worse i would say than OEM by a large margin. Ok lets put it in context, they work but if you have not applied the brakes for a while then they dont work for a few revolutions of the wheel then as they warm up the braking power comes on quickly. I have found the OEM do not suffer this as much.

As well as the major rusint issue, i've also had a couple pair warp on my after a year or so
EBC prolites...never again!!! |

They always worked well for me in rain and shine (with Tokico OEM pads) but finding that the discs had rusted onto the pads every morning in winter was a complete pain in the bum... I used to have to kick the discs free every day. I've kept them for trackdays, since for outright braking usefulness I reckon they're better than the Braking discs I replaced them with, but I'd never put them on another road bike.

IIRC fully floating discs are actually not road legal either. I could be wrong though.
I had prolites on my old hornet and hated them. They rusted at the slightest hint of moisture in the air and then when pushed hard on the track they would transfer soo much heat through the pads they boiled the fluid(castrol SRF The best stuff avaliable anywhere) |

EVC..dont touch em!. Steve's GSXR1000K6 race bike came with them fitted to a set of Marvics, they were brand new. One session at Brands and he lost his brakes completly. The discs overheated and stopped floating...utter cr***p.
If you want to spend some money get the Brembo clubman discs..good value and are awesome!. |
