Default cough splutter etc.

For the last 3 months...my sv650 K2 has been having issues.

Despite getting it looked over thoroughly from both Banjx and also Lazer...it still feels unhappy.

The consensus is the fault is electrical. As fuel lines / air filter all clear.

The last straw was breaking down ( second time ) on the motorway on a clear sunny warm day, afer riding for half hour for no obvious reason. I don't ride the thing hard either.

Took it to Banjax, they put it up on the dyno and said no obvious problems...possibly a slightly weaker reading from a 'rear coil'.

Replaced rear coil and it's been ok but still feels like it's going to fall over at any given moment...it idles ok...then starts to drift lower...then its fine ....then it stalls too easily in first...then its fine.

Bah!

Am wondering if there's some whizzo electrical expert who can finally clear it up...or am i missing something?

Next time it happens, pop the filler cap off immediately and see if it sucks air... Classic hard-to-trace fault that, over time on a run the pressure difference can build up and cause fuel starvation, but it doesn't show up on a quick dyno run. Pretty rare on an SV though.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head

i had this problem with a car, it would cut out if the lights were on, or if it was raining aswell. Problem turned out to be water leaking in to the fuel tank, needed to drain the tank and change the fuel filter (which was full of water ) and it felt like a new engine!
