Harald Eckl who has masterminded Kawasaki's main racing activity for 9 years has been sacked by Kawasaki. The factory are now to run their racing team in Moto GP with an "in house" set up.
The underlying factor I think is that Kawasaki had a long term plan in Moto GP which was to see them win the title in 2006. As we all know this has not materialised which must be highly dissapointing for them with a machine that is as powerful as the Ducati. |

It's just not competative, and they don't have a "world class" rider. We all know that there is probably only 4, maybe 5 riders that could win the title, and they don't have any of them....
Rossi Hayden Pedrosa Capirossi This list doesn't include Randy De Puniet or Olivier Jacque ![]() . |

Jelster....I am gonna wild guess that Marco would be on your list?
BTW Valentino has stated that he has maybe 3 seasons left in Moto Gp. So looks like he will get the dream ticket ride of the Ducati in 2008! You read it here first folks! ![]() |

There is a little more to the Eckl story. Take a close look at the new Ilmor bike and compare it to the Kawasaki? Too similar for words in Kawasaki's mind and no doubt they are sure how that happened! Hence exit stage right Eckl! Naughty boy!
