Default Why Banannas ?

this morning on the way to work i swerved wildly to avoid a bananna skin, but why?, bananna skins are no more slippy than any other of the 1000 pieces of detritus in the road.

So, who came up with the joke about slipping on bananna skins?, who decided that this was a common enough occurence to merit a joke?, and where did it first appear?

carry on.

Hmm, the original version was first seen in 1913, and the French version was banned by Charles de Gaulle....

Take a look at the version of wiki that you're reading, and click a few links.

I'm sure cuffy could learn some things from the uncyclopedia

A short extract from the uncyclopedia about the Internet:
Quote:
The major issue confronting the developers was what sort of network, architecture to use. Several options were considered. Early proposals revolved around copper wire and fiber. These were superseded by the so-called "Truck" proposal, in which data would be written onto bricks and dumped into a truck, thus providing a high latency but high bandwidth system. Ultimately, however, a proposal by maverick senator Al Gore was agreed upon. Gore's invention was comprised of a system of tubes (commonly referred to as YouTubes). Data, shoved into the tubes, flows along a route selected by a punchcard attached to the data. Solving the latency problems inherent in the "Truck" proposal, it was immediately agreed upon.
I think you get the point
