Good luck with the test/training

Tips? Well, adjust your mirrors so that you have to move your head so that you can see behind you. This way, you'll find it easier to show the examiner that you are looking in your mirrors. When riding normally, I just flick my eyes instead of moving my head too much, but you can't do that on your test. You have to demonstrate that you know what you're doing.

Other than that, just remember, the test doesn't finish until you get your certificate, or book your next test.

On my test, I rode great, got 2 minors on the whole test. At the end of the test, I turned left on to a minor road, then right into the test centre car park. The right turn into the car park was done without indicators, mirrors or lifesaver, because I was just so glad that the pressure was over. I was very VERY lucky to get away with a pretty hefty bollocking from the examiner & my instructor. But fortunately for me, they agreed between them to chalk it down to test nerves, because of how I'd ridden the rest of the test!

So take your time, and enjoy yourself!

As above, but stay calm. If you do something and think its over do not give up , carry on and do your best. Its up to the examiner to decide on the outcome.

I can't be specific on DAS as my tests were a long time ago. The pre-CBT version

Best of luck to you.

Relax, remember to breathe and listen to what your instructor tells you. Remember to give yourself plenty of time when doing your turns etc, so that you have enough time to do all the lifesaver checks etc etc. I found it easier if I talked myself through each thing I was doing.

The one big thing to remember is to turn your head and look where you are going, rather than looking at the space right in front of the front wheel.

Good luck man.... I was so nervous the morning before my test i couldn't eat my toast...but as soon as i got on the bike and started riding i began to relax..
if you make a mistake try and forget about it quickly..as your examiner will judge your riding for the whole test.. and it goes so quickly its only about 40mins if that..including questions etc...

and if you don't pass WHICH YOU WILL its not the end of the world...just book your next test date asap.

Remember the biggest test is from that day onwards

lots of good vibes coming at ya

Enjoy the DAS experience. It'll probably be the first time you've been out on a "big" bike, so have fun. Remember that the test isn't the end of the world, if you don't pass, there's always next time so relax. Do your best, but nerves are your worst enemy.

Best of luck. I've had a word with santa and he's gonna pull some strings on your behalf...

I really enjoyed my DAS course. Relax and treat it as another ride, with a useful guy giving you tips on how to improve!

I took my test on a Friday 13th February, and failed (not looking over shoulder enough), rebooked a new test immediately and was given Friday 13th March !!!!, Oh sh*t !!!!! (28 days in Feb, 28 days minimum between tests). I passed of course.

EDIT: Should have looked at the day you posted this, hope the first day of training went well
---------
I did exactly what you are doing a few months back. CBT, few weeks gap waiting for the test, 2 days 500 training, test following Monday (had a few days to stew ). It's nerve-racking once you begin, you realise how little time you'll actually have on the bike, but don't fret! If your instructor said 2 days is enough, it's enough. Just enjoy the riding, you might find the 500 much easier than the 125 you CBT'd on. I did, since I'm a tall *******.
Ask your instructor for hints and tips (I think they're sometimes careful not to overwhelm people with instruction, and want to keep the pressure off as much as possible, but a few little things can make a big difference).

I was mega-nervous before the test, I think it's unavoidable, but you will definitely be capable of passing, so just ride and concentrate harder than you ever have before in your life

It's all great fun, remember you get to ride a 500cc motorcycle!! Enjoy.
